Few Words About Profile
Dr Ashwinikumar Anand Raut completed his integrated post graduate training (M.D.) from Banaras Hindu University in 1987. Since then he has been actively involved in clinical practice and research in Ayurveda. He reinforces Ayurveda with latest research developments in the modern biomedicine. Dr Raut a third generation vaidya receives “International Dhanwantari Award 2010” for ‘excellence in Ayurvedic Practice’ by (Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America). Dr. Raut has successfully coordinated as a principal investigator, project on ‘Preclinical Development of Herbal Anti-arthritic Drug’ sponsored by Dept of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India. Dr. Raut completed as principal investigator a project on ‘Degenerative Joint Diseases’ sponsored by Council for Scientific & Industrial research (CSIR), Govt. of India. Dr. Raut was co-investigator of a project on ‘Advanced Centre of Reverse Pharmacology’ sponsored by Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR). Dr. Raut is the recipient of “CDRI (Central Drug Research Institute) award-2007” for ‘Excellence in Research’ for his work in Ayurveda & Rheumatology’. Currently he is involved in ‘Product Development Centre’ awarded to KHS-MRC sponsored by ICMR as a Co-PI since 2019. Clinical research projects on Ashwagandha (Withania somniphera) in Volunteers and Shinshapa (Dalbergia sissoo) in osteoporosis are being pursued further in collaboration. <br> Dr. Raut organizes and delivers academic talks on Ayurveda for researchers, academicians, practitioners, students and general community. He has been invited on several occasions in USA to deliver scientific talks in the universities and bio-medical conferences. He has been on faculty of teaching/training programs for Ayurveda, Pharmaceutical sciences, Dietetics & Nutrition, reorientation for AYUSH teachers, and ICMR training programs for pharmacology/reverse pharmacology. <br> Dr Raut’s meticulousness makes him a guest editor, reviewer and member of editorial board of bio-medical and Ayurvedic journals. Presently he is an associate editor of Journal of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine (JAIM). Translation of ‘Siddhayoga Sangraha’ into English is currently in progress. Dr. Raut has over 70 scientific publications to his credit in national and international journals of repute. He has delivered over 150 scientific deliberations.
